Sauvignon Blanc from Monterey, California is an elusive treat. Loaded with aromas of stone fruits, lemongrass and white flowers, this elegant white is known for flavors of green apple, orange blossom and grapefruit with more richness than its cousins from France and New Zealand. Hard to find because there are very few Sauvignon Blanc vineyards planted in Monterey, with most space being taken by Pinot Noir or Chardonnay. When you do find it, these whites can rival some of the best in the world. Complementing everything from triple-cream cheeses to oysters, salads, and grilled fish. If you're a fan of Spottswoode or Cade but not a fan of the $40+ price, this is a must have!
