On occasion, we're lucky enough to craft a Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from what is known as "Mountain Fruit." These are full-bodied reds grown in places like Howell Mountain, Atlas Peak, Diamond Mountain and of course Mount Veeder. It's a special part of Northern California where cooler weather prevails, and higher elevation vineyards (2,100 feet) help maintain fruit development, balanced acidity, and tannin structure. The rugged mountain terrain of this AVA makes luscious and memorable wines of outstanding power, quality and elegance, like our Block 421 Special Reserve Cabernet. Limited production of 1,450 cases.
"This Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon is big and bold with red berries, vanilla and spice on the nose with a full-bodied mouthfeel. Tastes of oak, chocolate cherry, strawberry and dark fruits wrap around your palate like a warm blanket in the cold of night. Medium tannins and gentle acidity make it a perfect paring with your favorite cut of steak. There is a whole lot of potential in this bottle!" The Wine Buyer, 96 Points
