Here at The Wine Buyer, we're celebrating Earth Day 2023 and World Malbec Week with a new organic project from the award winning Marcelo Bocardo winery. High elevation, certified sustainable vineyards in Mendoza, craft this hidden gem from a breathtaking estate in Maipu. The higher the elevation, the more direct and concentrated sunlight, less water and more dramatic temperature shifts. These vines produce fewer, yet more concentrated berries, which in turn produces better wines. Catena is another famous winery in Argentina that focuses on high elevation vineyards. They found that high altitude Malbec receives such direct sunlight, it creates a thick, tough skin which contributes vivid color and strong tannin, essential for making an age worthy wine. The difference is their high elevation wines are sold for $50+ while The Little Press 2021 is an amazing value for $9.98!
"Bright ruby red in color, the aromas of freshly picked cherries and raspberries jump from the glass, matching the mixture of red fruits and soft tannins on the palate, complemented by a balanced finish. Completely unoaked to showcase the purity of this amazing varietal." The Wine Buyer, 92 Points
