One of our top value wines, the Codice is a full-bodied red from big time Spanish producer Dominio de Eguren, the family behind the powerhouse winery Bodegas Teso la Monja. 100% Tempranillo (think Rioja or Ribera del Duero) from all estate vineyards in the AOC of Vino de la Tierra de Castilla. Aged for six months in stainless steel tanks and then moved into French and American oak barrels for another six months, the fruit comes from vineyards that are 30-70 years old with extremely limited yields. Spicy red and black cherry notes as well as hints of earth, pepper and new saddle leather, this is a huge wine for a little price!
