Midway between Toulouse and Biarritz, the Saint Mont vineyard is situated in a land rich in history and dotted with picturesque villages and Romanesque churches, bearing witness to times gone by. Similar to their cousins in Madiran, the wines here are mostly blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Tannat, imagine drinking a full-bodied Bordeaux. Plump and round with loads of blackberry, black plum and blueberry fruit with toasted notes and baking spices, Tannat is gracefully balanced with the Cabernet Sauvignon for a long, juicy finish and pleasantly gripping tannins. Not to mention the ability to age for 10+ years. Rated 92 Points at $40 a bottle, if you love French reds, this is an amazing buy for $9.99!
"With a dominance of Tannat, this wine is smoothly rich and dense. It comes from a vineyard managed by the Plaimont cooperative, which has made a wine that is ripe and ageworthy. Drink from 2021." The Wine Enthusiast, 92 Points
