94-96 Points from The Wine Spectator in six consecutive vintages, including a Top 100 (#26 of 2018) no other $25 wine has enjoyed such success! Crafted from high elevation vineyards in Spain's Ribera del Duero, Valderiz is a full-bodied red from one of the most award-winning wineries in Spain. 95% Tempranillo with a little Albillo added to give a signature floral note, complementing the dark fruit aromas perfectly. Similar to what Viognier does to Syrah in an elegant Cote Rotie. Aged two years in mostly French oak (50% new) this has been one of our favorite Spanish reds for years. One of James Suckling's Top 100 wines of Spain, we're down to our last cases of the 2019 vintage. Don't miss it!
"A tight and full-bodied Ribera del Duero, underscored by the quality and quantity of the tannins. Cocoa powder, stones and blackberries here, with a big mouthful of creamy, satin-like tannins interwoven with the fruit. Long and impressive. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold." James Suckling, 94 Points
"A harmonious red that marries power with finely detailed grace, offering a dense core of tannins tightly meshed with flavors of ripe black currant, fig cake, wild sage and mocha that slowly unfurl on the palate. Sleek and silky in texture, with a firm, lingering and well-spiced finish. Best from 2024 through 2032." The Wine Spectator, 94 Points
