Along with Italian heavy hitter Burlotto, the Vite Colte could be the single best expression of the varietal for the price. Barbera is what the Italian's drink for their daily vino, chalk full of ripe red fruits, smooth tannins, excellent balance and a pretty finish. So vibrant that it practically shimmers across the palate, this low production Barbera is tightly wound and very focused. In an excellent vintage like 2017, the full ripeness of both fruit and tannins makes these wine attractive for immediate enjoyment. A real gem!
