A high-end Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay, 2019 vintage made with the last fruit from the Bianchi Bench Vineyard, not far from Doctor's vineyard, another famed site in SLH. Michael Brughelli was one-half of the inception of Scar of the Sea, selling his portion in 2020 to begin his consultancy, Vignerons. Not only that, he has had a long career in viticulture with some of the best in the region, including seven years as director of grape sales for the Miller family, owners of Bien Nacido, as well as general manager at Volk for a decade prior. Michael's new venture, his namesake Brvghelli Wines from Santa Maria Valley, now sell for more than $200 per bottle.
"Light, bright gold in color. Lush citrus and orchard fruits on the plentiful nose. Relaxed and playful on the palate, offering apple, pear, honeysuckle and a touch of papaya. This Chardonnay finishes and long, and gentle with some floral character and a late touch of vanilla." The Wine Buyer, 94 Points
