A top source for classically made Italian wines, Tenuta di Capraia is located in Castellina, the heart of the Chianti Classico district. It's owned and managed by a Wine Buyer favorite Rocca di Castagnoli, and was certified organic in 2017. This under the radar producer is an original member of the Consorzio Chianti Classico. While Castagnoli is one of the largest producers in the region, they bottle only the very best from their production, which results of great typical character have been achieved.
"A dark and slightly brawny version, yet with concentrated black cherry, blackberry and violet flavors. The structure is dense, with fine-grained tannins. Fresh finish. Sangiovese, Colorino and Canaiolo. Drink now through 2029. 3,000 cases made, 1,000 cases imported." The Wine Spectator, 91 Points
