Tensley does it again! This time, it's not with his award winning Syrah or Cabernet Sauvignon, but his everyday, easy-drinking Pinot Noir, rated as The Wine Advocate's #1 Under $20! Taking Santa Barbara by storm, it's been 20 years since Joey Tensley started making vineyard designated wines as a side project from his "day job" as winemaker for Beckmen Vineyards. He obtained cult status when Matt Kramer added two of his 2001's to The Wine Spectator's Top Ten list. His Fundamental Pinot Noir is made up of fruit from the acclaimed Santa Rita AVA, giving the wine a beautiful red fruit component while the Santa Maria fruit gives it an unmistakable savory California pinot nose. Complex enough to make you think, but still easy to drink. While the quality of this wine could hold its own in any price category, it’s sure to rival any Pinot Noir at this price point!
"Medium ruby, the 2021 Fundamental Pinot Noir has inviting aromas of cranberry sauce, orange peel, licorice and loads of amaro-like accents. Medium-bodied, it’s silky and refreshing with a deep core of berry fruit and a long, layered finish. This is a lovely Pinot Noir with a notable quality-to-price ratio!" The Wine Advocate, 93 Points
