The highest rated Cabernet Sauvignon for the price, the Penley Estate Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is a full-throttle red from Australia's Coonawarra region. Established in 1988 by the direct descendants of the pioneering Penfold and Tolley families, Penley is critically regarded as one of the Southern Australia's leading producers. Vibrant aromas of dark berries and black fruits, with subtle floral notes intertwined with the dark core of fruit. Barrel aged in French oak for 18 months, only 5% new, followed by another 6 months in tank. This is ready to go right out of the bottle. Wine Spectator's top $20 Cabernet Sauvignon since the 2016 Vintage, the Penley Estate is not to be missed!

Wine Enthusiast: 92 Points

"The dusty, iron-rich terra rossa soils show on this Coonawarra Cab. There’s brambly blackberry and black-cherry fruit along with warm earth-meets-iodine vibes and some minty, peppery nuances, too. Lifted acidity and chalky, salivazapping tannins dominate the palate. There’s fruit and spice, too—they just need time to come to the fore." The Wine Enthusiast, 92 Points

James Suckling: 92 Points

"Notes of ripe dark fruit with hints of eucalyptus, cedar, leafy herbs and wet stones. Medium-bodied with polished tannins. Juicy and fresh with crunchy berry fruit and blue flowers. Gentle, but long. Drink now. Screw cap." James Suckling, 92 Points

Wine Advocate: 91 Points

"The 2021 Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon spent 15 days on skins with twice daily pumpers and matured in a combination of vessels for 12 months (65% seasoned French oak, 5% new French oak, 30% in stainless steel). This is an unashamedly bright, fruit-driven Cabernet Sauvignon that rests on a very fine rachis of tannin on the mid-palate. It is supple and fine and oh so fresh. It is modern, juicy, vibrant and crunchy, even, reminiscent of good Loire Chinon. It is also a very good value, with a suggested retail price of $20AUD." The Wine Advocate, 91 Points
