A joint project from famed German producer Ernst "Dr." Loosen and acclaimed Oregon winemaker Jay Somers, they purchased a beautiful 40-acre property on Chehalem Mountain in 2010. Even though Dr. Loosen has been making Pinot Noir in the Pfalz for 10 years, it's not on anyone's radar. Oregon Pinot Noir is, and that's why Loosen dipped a toe into the market back in 2006. After early success, they have greatly expanded on their original 2,000 case production. Developing long term contract with heritage vineyards and planting their own estate, J. Christopher is a star on the rise!
"Silky and elegantly layered, with raspberry and strawberry blossom notes, which are accented by orange zest and black tea and linger on a polished finish. Drink now through 2029." The Wine Spectator, 94 Points
"This is a very structured and tight pinot with dark cherries and strawberries and a full and tannic mouth-feel. It’s built for aging and shows energy and depth. Unfiltered. Try after 2024." James Suckling, 93 Points
