Bordeaux is made famous by its big names. Places like Chateau Haut Brion, Mouton Rothschild, Lafite, Latour and Margaux. But combined, these historic classified properties represent less than 5% of the overall wine production in the region. That leaves thousands of wines and vineyards that benefit from the same vintage conditions, and are sold at a fraction of the price. Chateau Motte Maucourt is a 6th generation, family owned estate in the heart of Bordeaux. Their elegant red is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon that is crafted for everyday enjoyment. A smooth, fruity wine with soft tannins, and flavors of raspberry, cherry, blackberry, and fig. It's also what our Wine of the Month program is all about. Great value!
"Another exceptional vintage for this estate. Precise and pure with juicy ripeness to accompany a crisp, silky texture and depth to the black currant and cherry flavors. Excellent concentration and beautifully integrated tannins coat the ripe finish. Deliciousness." The Wine Buyer, 91 Points
