One of the most sought-after values in Bordeaux, Chateau Marjosse is the personal vineyard of the famed Pierre Lurton, managing director for Cheval Blanc and d'Yquem! A hidden gem in our portfolio, the 2020 Marjosse is made up of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc with a splash of old vines Malbec from his personal estate close to Saint Emilion. Rich, deep and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2020 is incredibly appealing. He's dialed back the production lately and it's paid huge dividends with the quality of his "little wine" starting with the 2018 vintage. Both Antonio Galloni and Robert Parker have called this a must buy. We can't think of another $15 Bordeaux with this amazing pedigree. Don't miss it!
"Garnet-purple in color, the 2020 Marjosse Rouge needs a little coaxing to reveal notes of cast-iron pan, crushed rocks, and dusty soil over a core of red plums, blackberry preserves, and mulberries, plus a hint of bay leaves. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is tightly knit with fine-grained tannins and bold freshness supporting the nuanced black and red fruits, finishing long and minerally." Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, 94 Points
"The 2020 Marjosse comes barreling out of the glass with rambunctious scents of cassis, crushed blackberries and black plum preserves, followed by hints of dark chocolate, anise and tar, plus a fragrant waft of lavender. The medium-bodied palate is soft, juicy and wonderfully refreshing, delivering wonderful poise and expression with a fun burst of pure black fruit on the finish. Delicious!"
