Another top rated wine on our Top 100 radar, the Chateau Fortia Cuvee de Baron was just listed in the November 2nd Insider: New Chateauneufs to Love. 2019 was an outstanding vintage, and one that Grenache based wines, like Cuvee de Baron benefited greatly from. Wine Spectator calls these "ideal bottles for impatient fans looking for a delicious red to drink tonight," with optimum ripeness that allows for early consumption. Cuvee de Baron is an "old school beauty," and represents the more structured style of Chateauneuf du Pape. Black cherry and red fruits with classic garrigue, spice-box, and lavender with a wonderful sense of purity and elegance, terrific balance, and enough tannins to warrant some bottle age. Double gold at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles & International Wine & Spirit Competition, we love this Chateauneuf du Pape for the under $40 price!
"Stylish and ripe, with a racy beam of graphite and acidity holding ripe cherry and raspberry coulis flavors aloft. Reveals red tea, lavender and wet earth on the palate, with vanilla and cedar accents bringing warmth. Though tasty now, this has chalky tannins that guarantee a long life in bottle. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2038." The Wine Spectator, 94 Points
