Another amazing Chateauneuf du Pape from Laurent Brotte, their cuvee Secret de Barville is one of the top values of the 2018 vintage. A step up in class from our previous offering of the Domaine Barville, with more Grenache power and concentration. It's also one of the last vintages made by the brilliant Philippe Cambie as their consulting winemaker. Philippe's made 100-point wines at Domaine Saint Prefert, Domaine Giraud & Clos Saint Jean. All selling for much higher prices. Full-bodied and elegant, this is an amazing value in Chateauneuf du Pape.
"Blueberry, blackberry and herbal notes on the palate. Full-bodied with firm tannins. Layered and juicy with a savory feel. Slightly tannic but savory finish. Try in 2023." James Suckling, 92 Points
"Good depth of colour. Intense berry and juniper freshness with well-integrated oak lending a little background spice. Weighty on the palate but not fat, with a good sense of energy, well balanced acidity lending some drive and focus. Alcohol is in check. Fairly tannic for the vintage, well structured, this will need a few years to come together then will build complexity into the medium term. Drinking Window 2025 - 2035." Decanter Magazine, 92 Points
