In what could be our last offer on this historic vintage, the 2015 Bonacchi Molino del Piano is amazing Brunello di Montalcino from winemaker Ivan Misuri. A winner of the career-making Giulio Gambelli Prize, in honor of Italy's greatest master of Sangiovese, it's one of the most prestigious honors a winemaking can recieve in Tuscany. With a rich, fruit-forward style, the 2015 vintage is actually starting to hit the drinking window, so this isn't an offer necessarily for the cellar. Aromas of black cherry, dried blackberry, plum, toasted spice and crushed flower finishes with polished tannins and outstanding length. The 2015 vintage is a historical year for Brunello and nobody should miss it.
"I like the cherry and peach character to this with a hint of raw meat. Medium to full body, creamy tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink or hold." James Suckling, 93 Points
"The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Molino della Piano bristles with earthy minerals, savory herbs, with sour cherry and hints of dried strawberries in the background. On the palate, soft textures give way to a zesty expression, as brisk acids energize a mix of spiced cherry, and inner florals forming toward the finale. The finish is long and spicy, resonating on floral-laced red fruits and a buzz of lingering acids. The 2015 Molino della Piano is a bit beastly, like an unruly teenager, but I must admit that I like it quite a bit." Vinous Media, 93 Points
