A wine that screams summer, we're down to our last cases of the Chateau Saint-Honore Cotes du Provence Rose 2015.

A benchmark producer of the delicious, dry rose for which Provence is famous, this is straightforward, well made, highly enjoyable effort that gives up notes of white cherries and ripe strawberries. Grown on sandy shale soils less than two miles from the Mediterranean Sea, you get that crisp, dry finish reminiscent of a Sauvignon Blanc. Enjoyable chilled as an aperitif, or served with green salads, light pastas or simply prepared seafood. This is an amazing wine for the price!

Rating
"Lively, mineral-accented strawberry, tangerine andfloral scents show very good clarity and pick up a subtle garrigue quality with air. Smooth and expansive on entry...offering red berry and orange pith flavors and a refreshing jolt of white pepper. Finishes long, minerally and spicy, leaving a bitter berry skin note behind." Josh Raynolds, Vinous 90 Points

Wine maker notes
Chateau Saint-Honore is owned by the Fabre family, vignerons in Provence since 1928. The descendants of founder Henri Fabre are also the proprietors of Chateau de l'Aumerade in Pierrefeu and Chateau de la Clapiere in Hyeres, two of the eighteen estates elevated to Cru Classe status in the 1955 classification. Like the two Cru Classe wines, Saint-Honore is packaged in an elegant proprietary bottle based on a design by maitre verrier Emile Gale. The Fabre's custom Marie-Christine bottle was launched commercially in 1950 and along with Domaine Ott's distinct vessel, inspired the classic flute a corset now recognized as Provence's signature bottle.
