Here at The Wine Buyer, we're huge fans of Armando Parusso. Their wines are stunning, and for the price are without a doubt some of the top Barolo's imported into the United States today.

The Parusso White Label 2012 is alluring and complex, and an outstanding value for a world class Italian wine. Juicy and ripe, the Parusso Barolo's are always known for their fruit concentration, a style that is sometime atypical of some producers which can at times be lean and tannic. Using whole cluster fermentation, these are reds with a wild characteristic, full-bodied and silky, yet with a solid structure supporting the flavors.

Rating
"Parusso's 2012 Barolo is soft, supple and forward, with gorgeous aromatic lift throughout. Sweet red cherry, plum, rose petal and lavender flesh out in a gracious, mid-weight Barolo that is already quite expressive. This is a striking entry-level Barolo from Marco Parusso." Antonio Galloni, Vinous 92 Points

Wine maker notes
For the past twenty five years, the Armando Parusso estate has been run by Marco Parusso and his sister Tiziana in the commune of Monforte d'Alba. Critics and collectors have long considered Marco one of the most adventurous producers in Piedmont, a winemaker who is obsessed with his vineyards and who tries to emulate the great wines of Burgundy. He recently began experimenting with whole cluster fermentation, a process rarely seen in Italy but common in France. Picking the grapes late and extending their ripeness, creates a Barolo with bigger body, more upfront aromatics and intensity.
