On occasion, The Wine Buyer is lucky enough to feature a Napa Cabernet crafted from what is known as "mountain fruit." These are full-bodied reds crafted in places like Howell Mountain, Mount Veeder, Atlas Peek, Diamond Mountain and of course the Spring Mountain AVA. It's a special part of Napa where cooler weather prevails and higher elevations vineyards help maintain good acidity and tannin structure.

The Block 415 Special Reserve is a powerful, firm Cabernet, chock full of blackberry-currant flavors and rich mouth-filling texture. 5 Star Customer Reviews, with comments like "think you are serving a $250 bottle." This is a serious Napa Cabernet you don't want to miss!

Rating
A spectacular Cabernet that jumps out of the glass! Powerful and concentrated with vast amounts of blackberry jam, blueberry, dark cassis, wildflower and rich chocolate flavors that are such a part of the Spring Mountain District. Amazingly textured giving way to a wonderful, long mouthfeel and supported by firm, yet nicely balanced tannins. You will enjoy the 30+ second finish in this beauty as the fruit, acidity and tannins are perfectly proportioned. Drinks well now but this can certainly improve after a few years of cellaring. Wine Buyer, 96 Points

Wine maker notes
The rugged AVA of Spring Mountain, perched on the west side of the Napa Valley was one of the first areas to be planted by the early settlers in the 1800's. Named for its many natural springs, the Spring Mountain District is endowed with forests and meadows of great natural beauty amid charming reminders of the historic past. Officially established as an AVA in 1993, was described twenty-five years ago by a prominent wine writer as "probably more responsible than any other Napa hillside for creating the mystique of mountain grapes." Today the district makes luscious and memorable wines of outstanding power, quality and elegance.

Shock and Awwwww! Damn that is a fine wine and damn tasty too. Had it with elk last night and with venison tonight. It just jumps out of the glass......drink me! I was amazed. For what it cost and what it says ro your company they will think you are serving 250.00 bottle of wine. Do not hesitate to grab a case of this and set it down in the cellar!!
