Chateau Peyrabon is a cru bourgeois property whose vineyards are uniquely divided between the appellations of Haut Medoc and Pauillac. The Haut Medoc vineyard is a large one, over 30 hectares in size and lies several miles inland from the Gironde river. The wine is typically a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot and and 23% Cabernet Franc. Since Chateau Peyrabon was purchased by Patrick Bernard, the winery has benefited from serious investment to improve its quality and the recent results show how far this Bordeaux has soared.

"The 2018 Peyrabon has a very agreeable bouquet of blackberry, raspberry and briary aromas, the oak nicely integrated and feeling natural. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and crunchy red fruit tinged with cedar and pine. It is a bit "chunky" on the finish, but I admire the freshness and substance, and the oak is judiciously used. Good winemaking, good wine." Vinous Media, 90-92 Points
