Crafted by Giovanni Sordo, one of the most traditional producers in Italy, the cru vineyard of Perno is one of the most important sites in Barolo. It's also one of the most representative style of a classic Italian red. As with all top Barolo's the greatness of this wine lies in its signature perfumed aromatics, where the floral and savory notes jump from the glass. Complex, intriguing, with enormous aging potential, the Sordo Perno Barolo is a must have for all Italian wine collectors!

Rating
"Intense and full of youthful energy, it delivers succulent black cherry and black raspberry sensations accented with notes of black pepper, new leather, cinnamon, clove and Mediterranean herbs. The vibrant palate is supported by a tannic backbone and lively acidity that promise serious cellaring potential." The Wine Enthusiast, 95 Points

Wine maker notes
The Sordo winery is located in the heart of the Barolo region, with holdings in in their home base of Serralunga d'Alba, as well as Monforte, La Morra, Novello, Castiglione Falleto and Grinzane Cavour. For three generations, members of the Sordo family have crafted Barolo from these famous and historic vineyards. Today, the winery is managed by Giorgio Sordo and his wife Manuela. Originally founded by Giorgio's grandfather at the turn of the 20th century, it was his son Giovanni who acquired the prestigious cru vineyards that truly make the amazing 95 point wines the winery produces today.
