In what could be our last offer on this historic vintage, the 2015 Castiglion del Bosco is amazing Brunello di Montalcino from the legendary icon Massimo Ferragamo! One of the oldest estates in Tuscany, located on the Via Francigena route to Rome, Bosco is a founding member of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino. It's believed that Ferrucio Biondi Santi resided there in the 1880's when he was isolating the Sangiovese clone that became Brunello di Montalcino. Winemaker Claudio Basla, from Altesino consults at Castiglion del Bosco and made this outstanding 2015, which James Suckling considers one of the best ever. With a rich, fruit-forward style, the 2015 Vintage is actually starting to hit the drinking window, so this isn't an offer necessarily for the cellar. Aromas of black cherry, dried blackberry, plum, toasted spice and crushed flower finishes with polished tannins and outstanding length. Don't miss one of the last offers for the historic 2015 vintage!
"Wonderful aromas of flowers, plums, terracotta and white pepper. Intense, yet ever so subtle. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a long and intense finish. Shows excellent length. Drink after 2021." James Suckling, 97 Points
