The Yauquen Bonarda is 1 of only 2 wines from Argentina that received a 90 point score in the Wine Spectator for under $15. Hailing from Mendoza, Argentina's leading wine region, it's rare to find a Bonarda that combines such freshness of red fruit and structural strength. Originally from Italy, Bonarda has found a new home in the high altitude vineyards that cover the valley at the base of the majestic Andes. Fresh, juicy, and full-bodied on the palate, this is a fruit-forward stunner that will impress everyone for under $10.

Rating
"Juicy yet powerful, with a deep well of dark plum, kirsch and dark chocolate flavors that carry some meaty overtones. Creamy midpalate, featuring a long, luscious finish of black olive, licorice and spice. Drink now through 2019. 980 cases imported." The Wine Spectator, 90 Points

Wine maker notes
Sourced from Argentina’s premier wine region and home to over half the country’s cultivated vines, Yauquen embodies the rich history, spirit, and pedigree of Mendoza winemaking. Founders Jean Pierre Thibaud and Jacques Louis de Montalembert, share familial relations to some of France’s foremost winemaking houses. Their wines are hand-crafted, using traditional French winemaking techniques in a modern facility equipped with the latest technology. The goal is to produce elegant, food-friendly wines that express the true identity of each varietal. They recruited enologist Pablo Cuneo, who’s intimate knowledge of Argentinean terroirs and winemaking expertise has led him to be one of the most respected winemakers in Mendoza.
