Those who follow our daily e-mails know it's hard to find a balanced and elegant California Cabernet at this price point, let alone one that spent 18 months aged in French oak to round out all the edges.

The Cross Springs was picked from several hillside vineyards in Lake County to create a multi-layered wine with great depth and complexity. Rated 4 1/2 stars in our customer reviews, this has been one of our most popular California Cabernets on our Website and 15 NJ Bottle King locations. In fact, the Cross Springs 2011 has been so popular, it's going to be listed as the #1 selection in our March-April Top 10 List!

Tasting notes
A big and full bodied wine that possesses notions of cassis, black raspberry, graphite, chocolate and damp earth on both the nose and palate. A bold and rich effort, it has Dense, dark fruit, a mouth-coating texture and enough chocolaty tannin to keep it drinking nicely for several years to come

Wine maker notes
In a remote area in the northeast corner of Lake County, Cross Springs Vineyard is located atop one of the highest mountain bench lands. The elevation is nearly 1,400 feet above sea level, well above the fog line. The sloping northeast facing vineyards capture the morning sunlight, which in combination with the soil composition, excellent drainage and cool evenings results in fruit with impressive structure and ripe flavors. Carved out of Napa and Mendocino counties, this Lake County Cabernet is an excellent value.
