Napa Valley, California is the premier wine region in the United States and their Bordeaux style blends crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot are sought after all over the world. What started out as an experiment by Joseph Phelps in the early 1970's has evolved into one of California's most popular style of wine. The names are well known: Opus One, Dominus, Rubicon...and so are their price tags. For a fraction of the price, the Whitehall Lane Vintner's Mark 2013 is outstanding.

Rating
"A wonderfully rich and complex wine with layers ofdark cherry, plum, cassis, mocha and spicy notes gaining elegance on a graceful, long, lingering finish. 51% Merlot, 39% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah." The Wine Buyer, 94 Points

Wine maker notes
Whitehall Lane is a small, family owned winery in Napa Valley's historic Rutherford appellation. Founded in 1979, the history of the soil cultivation at the winery dates back two centuries. In the mid 1800's, Napa Valley settlers were drawn to the deep, loamy soils and ideal climate, planting high quality grape vines at the Whitehall Lane Winery site. In 1993, the Leonardini Family of San Francisco took control of the Whitehall Lane estate, and their Vintners Mark 3 marks three generations of Leonardini's creating this full-bodied and expressive Napa red.

Review:
very nice floral nose, ready to drink, velvet smooth and has a nice finish. I bought 3 bottles originally and would like to have more on hand. Very enjoyable and worth the money. It does not need time to decant, its a great open and pour wine.

I just bought two mixed boxes to give out as Christmas gifts, but I will keep the bottles of Generations 3I loved it. It is full bodied, and the mixed flavor of plum, black cherry and mocha makes it a delicious wine.

Review:
I enjoy big red cabs and blends and I am really enjoying this wine. It is silky smooth but has a wonderful, slow, lingering finish that is, to me, the signature mark of this blend. There are other wines in the same price range $20 - $25 that I rate higher than Vintners Mark but that is not to say this wine is overpriced. It is a good value when you factor in free shipping and you can serve this wine to a wide spectrum of wine drinkers and 99% of them are going to like it very much.

You will not find a better value than this cab. WB is earning some credibility with me. This wine deserves its WB 94. Some time ago I purchased a couple of WB 96 for an exceptional price, and they, too deserved the rating.

A really well constructed blend. Super soft & smooth. Bursting fruit on the nose and lingering vanilla on the toungue. My favorite BK wine in the last couple years.
