In 1986 Richard Arrowood and his wife and partner, Alis Demers Arrowood founded the winery. Richard has been
making wine for nearly four decades. Before founding Arrowood, he was winemaker and the first employee at
Chateau St. Jean. Arrowood wines are crafted from grapes grown exclusively in prestigious vineyards throughout
Sonoma County's many sub-appellations. They consider the Saralee's Vineyard Syrah the "Grande Dame" of their Syrah portfolio.
Not only is it the first Syrah Arrowood produced, but it also comes from one of Sonoma County's "Grande Dame" vineyards.
Saralee's Vineyard, located in the cool-climate Russian River Valley, has a reputation for producing some of Californias finest
fruit.

| The 2006 Syrah Saralee’s Vineyard exhibits tell-tale tar, roasted meat, and bouquet garni aromas, intense, ripe blackberry fruit, hints of smoke and licorice, and a long, heady finish. Aged in French oak for 18 months, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, this luscious, sexy Syrah should provide plenty of pleasure over the next 6-7 years.- Robert Parker Wine Advocate 90 Points.
