#2 - Wine Buyer Top 10 Wines of 2007!
We fell head over heals for this 2000 vintage Gran Reserva on our trip to the winery in the spring. So much so, that we asked them to RUSH it to us as soon as it was humanly possible to release it. The 1998 is still around and still a great wine, but this 2000 is something truly special and only available at the Wine Buyer!
Bodegas Muga was founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga and his wife, Aurora Cano, both of whom came from families with a long tradition of activity within the wine-making industry. Over the years, Muga wines have gained international recognition and acclaim. The Bodegas Muga vineyards are situated on the east and south-facing slopes of the Obarenes Mountains, which are sculptured into terraces to form a series of small plots. Meticulously faithful to their traditional wine-making methods, at Bodegas Muga they use oak tubs and vats throughout the entire process. They even make their own oak vats and casks, and carry out all their wine-making, ageing and storage activities using oak.

| Red berry and currants carry the intensely complex flavors of flowers, licorice, truffles, truffles and more truffles,
leather, cured meats and minerals. Great elegance in its crisp, silky texture and full-bodied palate. Finishes ripe, spicy and very
long. A big wine, with superb balance, elegance and intensity. Drink over the next 6 to 8 years. Wine Buyer 95 Points |
