On the nose the wine is intense with a good fruit balance combined with a touch of oak, both attributing to its attractive aroma of vanilla, chocolate and tobacco. The wine is in its positive stage of development. Its complexity and elegance will continue to develop well together throughout its time in the bottle.
On the palate the wine is very delicate with a smooth acidity. There´s liveliness and freshness, two characteristics which help to keep the wine in good health in the bottle. A promising wine with two outstanding attributes: an immensely attractive aroma coupled with a balanced and elegant fusion of flavours.
It is highly recommended to allow the wine to breathe in the glass for ten minutes to appreciate it completely.
The wine will continue to develop for at least another ten years if left to lie down.

| "The current release is the 2001 Prado Enea Gran Reserva from a vintage universally acknowledged as great in Rioja. Medium purple in color, it displays an alluring perfume of cigar box, rose petal, Asian spices, incense, truffle, and black cherry. A wine of finesse, it has a velvety texture, succulent fruit, and a lengthy, pure finish. It is approachable now but will continue to provide pleasure for another 20 years."-Wine Advocate Jay Miller 93 Points |
