Marietta Old Vines Red Lot #62 750ML

Free Mix & Match Case Shipping!

One of our top selling California reds, the Marietta Old Vines Lot series was one of the first wines to start the blend revolution. Owner and winemaker Chris Bilbro has always called it his take on an "Old World Table Wine." We add easy, breezy California flair to his description. Showcasing bright perfumed strawberry and pomegranate fruit, with a rich and round structure, the Lot 62 is an amazing value for what's in the bottle.

Even Robert Parker calls the Marietta Old Vines Red Lot 62 "one of my perennial best buys...this cuvee represents one of the finest value-priced wines in the United States."

Rating
"A zesty red, with personality to spare, offering notes of licorice, blackberry, smoky pepper and grilled herbs. Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Syrah and mixed Italian blacks. Drink now through 2019." The Wine Spectator, 90 Points

Wine maker notes
Marietta Cellars is located just outside the little town of Geyserville in one of California’s premier wine growing regions, Sonoma County. Owner and winemaker Chris Bilbro initially founded Marietta Cellars in 1978 in a rented cow barn in the Dry Creek Valley. The winery is named after Chris’ great aunt, Marietta, a tough Italian immigrant. Not having any children of her own, she took Chris under her wing and taught him how to cook by hand, which is a direct correlation to Chris’ winemaking style.

This is a great drinking wine, nicely balanced. I live in Ocean, NJ and I am having a hard time finding it.

Review:
Nice wine. This is a very easy drinking wine and even though the alcohol level at 13.5% is low for a Zin, this one is very full bodied and smooth.

Review:
It's not a true Zinfandel. Its a mix of Zin plus Petite Sirah, and Carignane. The first lot we tasted was number 7.

Review:
We enjoyed the lot 61 slightly more, however, this wine value is remarkable. Well balanced with strong deep tones of zin and petite sirah and others ring through as the front and finish is smooth and sexy. Decanted 4 hours. At this price point you would be hard pressed to find a better full bodied red.
