This luxuriant, firmly structured wine is marked byintense black fruit and cassis flavors and aromas with nuances of spice, nutmeg and sweet herbs set in a plummy, saturated texture ending in a lush finish.
Ultimate Beverage Challenge 91 points - May 2011 Ultimate Wine Challenge  (May 2011)

Wine Advocate 88 points - The 2007 LBV is a deep, almost opaque dark ruby color. The nose is a little reticent at first; perhaps a little predictable with earth and leathery notes infusing the black plum fruit. The palate has a lively, nutty entry with allspice and cloves, the spirituous side of its personality becoming more pronounced towards the finish that ever so slightly clipped and not as sensual as the Terra Prima. Drink now-2018.  (Feb 2013)

Wine Spectator 90 points - Fruity, with fresh-crushed raspberry and plum flavors, accented by chocolate mousse notes. The powerful finish is rich, creamy and offers good grip. Drink now.-K.M. (Dec 2 2015)

This superb Late Bottles Vintage port is aged to full maturity in oak vats. It is then drawn off into bottle with no fining or filtration. As a result the wine loses none of its richness and concentration and preserves all of its natural fullness of body and flavor. As the wine is in filtered, a haze or light sediment may form after a year or two or if the wine is subjected to the cold. This is a natural process and its quite normal. If it occurs, the wine will benefit from being decanted.
Food pairing
An excellent pairing with full-flavored cheeses, especially blue cheeses, and with dark chocolate or fresh berry desserts. This wine is unfiltered and should be decanted because of sediment in the bottle.

Producer
Founded in 1815, Fonseca is distinguished by its remarkable consistency of winemaking by successive generations of a single family, and is consistently one of the world’s top vintage Porto producers.
