Kenwood Vineyards was founded in 1970. The Vineyards are located on a beautiful, twenty-two acre-producing estate. The winery also produces wines from fruit sourced from some of Sonoma County’s best vineyards.
True to history, the winery is housed in the original winery buildings. Inside, the winery has been redesigned with winemaking versatility in mind. More than 125 stainless steel fermenting and upright oak tanks are used in combination with 14,000 French and American Oak barrels, giving the winemaker flexibility and diversity in production.
| Tasting notes |
| Complex aromas of cherries, loganberries and licorice. Full-bodied with excellent structure, smooth tannins and a long finish. |
| Wine maker notes |
| Kenwood Vineyards creates its award-winning Sonoma
County Merlot from vineyards located in the Sonoma, Dry
Creek and Alexander Valleys. Grapes sourced from
Sonoma Valley provide good color and excellent texture.
The blend is balanced with fruit from the warmer Dry
Creek and Alexander Valley regions that grow grapes
with a more fruit forward character. The resulting wine is
ripe, supple and well-proportioned. |
| Food pairing |
| This wonderfully approachable Merlot is an ideal complement to grilled salmon, swordfish, red meat and rich tomato sauce dishes. |
