Customer Service

Too hot or cold to ship in your area?The Wine Buyer will store your purchase up to 180 days for no additional charge. To notify us of this, simply put a note in the Special Shipping Instructions at checkout or reply to your order email confirmation.

1. How do I know if my order was received?

When the order is received by The Wine Buyer, you will get an automated receipt via e-mail letting you know the items ordered and their total as well as confirming shipping and billing information. When the order is shipped you will receive an e-mail from UPS or FedEx with the tracking information.

2. How do I know if an item I ordered is out of stock?

If The Wine Buyer is sold out of an item or there is a delay in getting an item in-stock, we'll contact you by email as soon as possible to let you know and offer you alternatives. Please monitor your email, as it is not unusual for an order to wait 3 or 4 days before our shipping department can arrange for substitutions.

3. What happens if my order is returned?

If your order is returned to The Wine Buyer after failed delivery attempts, your credit card will automatically be credited for the full amount of the wine less delivery charges through UPS or FedEx. If you would like to attempt another delivery, a new order must be placed through our Website.

4. What if I need to return a wine?

If there is an issue with your order, please contact our customer service center immediately at or 1-800-WINE-YES.

5. Do presales and futures get charged when they come in or at the time of purchase?

All presales and futures are charged at the time of purchase. Since presales and futures are guaranteed orders, The Wine Buyer must confirm your commitment to purchase the wine. Having the presale paid in full ahead of time will guarantee the discounted presale price should it change at a later date.

6. If an item is on the website am I guaranteed to get the quantity I ordered?

Even though you placed an order for a case of XYZ Cabernet, we may not have a case left in stock. We don't want to limit your access to wines just because we ran out today; we get deliveries every weekday from different distributors. If we are out we'll make every effort to get more as soon as possible.

7. If I ship a bottle of wine to someone as a gift will an invoice be included?

If you place an order and a gift note is included there will be no invoice or bill included with the order. However, a packing slip will be included minus the prices of wine.

8. If I place an order today when will it be shipped?

Orders placed today are usually shipped within 1-2 business day except for orders placed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

9. Do you ship in extreme hot or cold weather?

We ship all year round. If it's too hot or cold in your region when you place your order, we'll be happy to hold your wine until conditions are right for you to have it shipped. We offer this service at no additional charge. To notify The Wine Buyer of this request, simply place your instructions on the Special Shipping text box or reply to your order email confirmation.

10.Can my package be left on the porch if no one is available to sign for my delivery?

There must be an adult at least 21 years of age available to sign for the package. No exceptions. If no one is available when a delivery is attempted, there will be two more attempts made on consecutive business days. Should delivery fail on all three attempts, the package will be held at your local UPS or FedEx location for several days for pick-up and soon after be returned. In order for the package(s) to be re-sent or shipped to a more convenient location such as a business, we must recharge you for shipping

11. Do you ship to businesses or to a PO Box?

Shipping to a business address is encouraged if no one will be available at home to sign for the delivery. Please include the business name to ensure prompt delivery. We cannot ship to PO Boxes in any situation.

12. Do you ship outside the United States and what states do you ship to?

Currently we can only ship within the United States and we are subject to each individual states laws as well as the laws of New Jersey

Title to and ownership of all wines passes from to the purchaser in the State of New Jersey and the purchaser takes all responsibility for the shipping of it from New Jersey to his/her home state.

By arranging for transportation of the wine, is providing a service, and acting on behalf of the purchaser.

Utilizing this service from, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation and delivery of wine. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of wine and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered.

13. How long does it take to ship from New Jersey to where I am?

Approximate estimations for Ground Shipping to East Coast is 1-3 business days, to Midwest is 2-4 business days, and to West Coast is 4-6 business days.

14. How do I track my order?

Once your order is shipped you will receive an email from UPS or FedEx with your tracking number, which you can enter at or to track your package.

15. Do you offer In-Store Pickup?

The Wine Buyer offers in-store pickup at the Wayne Bottle King location only.
